What's more, Kitter Keep's anniversary is just around the corner. We have something special planned for it, and we hope that everyone can be excited about what's to come too.

Do you hate ekkos? Yeah, us too. That's why they just went over an minor overhaul to make them overall more appealing!
They haven't changed TOO much, but it's the subtle nuances that count! We personally thing they're looking a lot better now. You can check them out on their page on the site!!

What does this mean for my Ekko?
Already have an Ekko? Great! You don't have to change yours at all. We've included the old differences as Retired "Legacy" traits. Now you have an Ekko with a super special trait that won't show up ever again!

But I like these Ekkos way better! I want one of these!
Double good news! Skull is going to be appearing in the voice chat on discord on occasion and stream. When he's there if you have a Legacy Ekko you can request it be revamped, free of charge! (Not all requests will be done as soon as he's there and they're requested- the focus will be on one at a time and first come first serve with purchased Ekkos taking priority-- but just keep coming by and yours will get done eventually!)

Sorry, did you say Ekko Breeding??
Yes! That's right. Occasionally just a few paid slots will open up for entirely custom Ekko breedings. They'll be done on a template but the colors and designs especially may vary pretty wildly. To kick this off, keep an eye out for a special Ekko breeding journal coming up that will kick off the new Ekkos with all the offspring having the newer traits and designs! You might even get a trait not on the Ekkos you're breeding! It'll be wild!

Please make sure when making Kitters inspired by copy-written works that they're inspired and not identical. If too many characters that look like they're from somewhere else appear in the group we'll have to ban characters inspired by copy-written characters altogether. This is an OC group, not a fandom group. If you would like to play as a copy-written design, I would recommend starting an ARPG for that fandom. The issue lies in the design. You can give your character any personality and name you desire but do not make Kitters that actually highly resemble their copy-written counterparts. If your kitter looks to similar to a copy-written design/character you will be asked to change it.

Hello members! We are getting really close to wrapping up the revamp! Unfortunately, we have a rather large change that we know will upset many.

Googators and Felthurrs are being changed from a pet animal to regular wildlife. Googators will be becoming farm animals and Felthurrs will be wild. You may keep your designs, but they do not officially count as a group pet and any art of them acting as a companion to your Kitter will be considered non-canon.

Once the group has reopened, any of you who have paid for a custom pet or an adopt may note the group with a link to the pet and their design, and will either receive sigils of an equivalent amount to what was paid in compensation, or may have your pet redesigned as one of the new ones. This only applies to Felthurrs and Googators.

Another major update is that, for the time being, pet breeding is not a mechanic we will be offering. Anyone with a Pet Breeding Voucher may cash it in for 20 sigils if they so wish. If you were in the midst of discussing a pet breeding with an artist or mod, contact them and it will be their decision on whether or not they will continue the transaction.

These are some of the largest changes and we understand they may be difficult to stomach. We sincerely apologize for any plans that these changes will ruin. Pet breeding was overly complex and hardly sustainable on our end, and it was partially plot and personal preferences that led to the changes in pet animals. Thank you for sticking with us through this; we are nearly there!

With the reboot of the entire plot of this group, some things are changing. Muddies can no longer canonically be born in the town of KitterKeep, and Kitters can no longer be in the town of Murkwood. If you have one, it's plot and it's self must be moved to Murkwood (for Muddies) or KitterKeep (for Kitters) for the time being. Feel free to keep drawing them as is with your current plot until the hiatus is over and the first event is posted, but keep this in mind. Please understand that this was a very difficult decision to make, but it simply wasn't feasible to find a realistic solution with the plot that we've written. We're incredibly sorry.
In addition to this comes a change to any Monster Kitters. Don't worry, they don't have to be relocated. However, if your Kitter is a Vampire or a Lycanthrope, however, they must be incredibly secretive of this fact, or completely unaware of their Vampirism/Lycanthropy altogether.
Again, we sincerely apologize for any hiccups this throws into plans. Because of it, we will have compensation if it is so desired.

After some consideration, Skull and Thunder decided it best that I step down from the staff team. This is the last time I'll be able to update the news journal, or anything at all. So, I wanted to say thank you - to Skull and Apple for giving me a chance, to Thunder and everyone else for working with me and supporting me, and - of course - to all of you for being the amazing people that you are. I'm not bitter, or angry, or upset, and I don't want you to be, either. This choice was ultimately for the greater good.

KitterKeep has been my life for the past year and a half - I've put so much time, effort, and love into my work here. Being a part of the team gave me a purpose - it let me feel like I was part of something important, like I was making a difference. I've made so many mistakes, and there are so many things I wish I could take back - things I wish I'd done differently - but I feel nothing but love for this group and everyone in it. I'm so grateful to have been able to help out in the ways that I did, and I'm definitely going to miss being able to do so in the future.

Hah I'm sorry for that sentimental wall of text - there were just so many things I needed to say. But as a wise man once said, “All that comes up must come down.” And now is my time to come down.

I would not be who I am today without Kitterkeep - it's helped me to grow in so many ways. Thank you all so much for every opportunity you gave me - I love you. <3



[ 11/27/18] KitterKeep is going on a major hiatus for some time. Skull and I both agreed that the group needs some sort of a fresh start, and because of that, we're going to take some time to revise the group to hopefully reignite the ideas and what the group was supposed to be. What the end result will be, neither of us know yet, but we both hope you all will support the group anyways and stick with us through it. Until then, MYOs, breeding, shop, trading, adults, transfers, and Make-a-meeps will be closed. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience.

[ 10/31/18] Yeah boi!!! Not only is ALL of the art on the Make a Kitter page updated, but the amount of whisker types had DOUBLED with eight whole brand new types!! Not only that, but all whiskers have been updated with perks and negatives- so they all do something now!! Get those whisker changes ready, huh? (If you've already used your 2 whisker changes on 1 kitter you may have one bonus one for free!)

[ 10/26/18] RED SCLERA is no longer a limited trait!! It was made as one back when we first started- when Kitters were only allowed to have black sclera and we decided it's kind of silly to have just the one color stay limited, especially since the reasoning was outdated.

If you've applied Red Sclera to your kitter as a limited trait, please note the group for your replacement limited Eye Trait options.

AND!! Lots of Tails were just given a trait image upgrade!! This is because the art was old and because now you can better see the size of each tail in relation to your kitter.
Also upgraded: Back Mane, Fin Tip, and Nightmare Claws

Additionally: Flicker Tip has a new look!! Check it out, it's much better than the old design.
Additionally 2: Leaf Tip has been replaced with Hammer Tip! It's not gone, though, Leaf Tip is now an option for the Bloom Tail Tip upgrade Flora Tip.

[ 9/26/2018] A new feature has been released: Make-A-Meep! A new way to get custom meeps drawn by the artists! This feature is in testing right now, and may or may not be fully implemented in the future.

Hello, everyone. Unfortunately, I'm going to be taking a long term hiatus from Kitter Keep. This has been a long time coming and the way my life has been, I've not been able to run the group the way I should. I'm handing over primary leadership of the group to Thunder-Evermore and I believe they'll do well in bringing the group back up to the way it should be. The patreon will also be closing down immediately because of this. Also as a result of this, the website may begin to say wix on it and have ads again. I'm so sorry for that but at the moment I can't pay every month to keep it nice and ad free. I hope everyone understands and I'm sorry for my failure as the creator and founder up to this point. When I come back it will be when I'm in a stable place where I can properly dedicate time to the group.

Hello everyone!

Thanks so much for your patience as the site upgrades section has been re organized. I'm happy to announce that it is finished and ready for use! The changes were made for convenience of browsing, to generally make kitterkeep.com easier to navigate when you want to upgrade one of your characters.

The changes are as follows;

-Main categories have sub categories on their respective pages, Ex; Head traits are divided into general/noses/muzzles

-Categories have also been split into adult only on each page. Under "kitter upgrades" are the lists of upgrades that can only be applied to approved adults.

-Some upgrade requirements have been changed. If you had an upgrade already applied to a character that has a new requirement you do NOT need to meet the new requirement, you may keep it!

A major change to the upgrades system has been made. Due to popular request, the Baby Upgrades page has been replaced by an Adults-only Upgrades. Now every upgrade that isn’t on the adults-only page is available to Meeps! A couple other upgrade pages have been added, such as Unlockables and Injuries.

A new currency has also been released: Sigils! Anyone that completed the last mission has earned some.

Say hello to Kitterkeep’s newest animals: Bullrushes, Boomkins, Milkflowers, and Snowseals! They can be found on the Wildlife page. A new monster has been discovered as well: the Arcticary. You can read about it on the Monsters page, if you dare…

Hello, members of KitterKeep! It’s time for another update. Most of the things we’ll be announcing involve the content on the website, so if you’d like to find things out for yourself, go here!

First off, there are many more adult upgrades! It’s become easier than ever to customise your Kitter. We’ll be releasing more in the future, so stay tuned and check the website often! There are also several more whisker types and adult stances available for when you create a new Meep and grow one into a Kitter.

Wildlife and monsters have been added to the world of KitterKeep, as well as a couple other food items and plants. The world of Ostaria now has upgraded maps and locations, so if you’d like to read about those, here’s the place! And we’ve released fifteen new NPCs since our last update as well.

Some final things - The sale will be ending tomorrow (July 26th), so be sure to buy the things you want before the prices are returned to their normal amounts again. And to those of you who joined during the first week of opening, the final stages of Mystical Headgear have been released! And there are not one, but four final stages to choose from! Hi, everyone! Welcome to the News journal, where the other mods and I will be announcing new updates in the world of KitterKeep. We have several things to announce, so get ready!

First of all, the shop is having a huge sale! Everything is about half off. But the sale won’t last long, so grab the things you want while the prices are still low! We’ve also added Trait Tea and Trait Elixir, which allow you to get the upgrades you want without having to meet any of the requirements, including rune count. These incredible items also allow you to put adult traits on Meeps! However, they’re quite expensive; get yours before the sale ends!

Next off, adult upgrades are finally available! Check the upgrades pages to see all the awesome upgrades your Kitters can get when they grow up. We’ll be constantly adding new traits, so check the website often. Remember, though - your Meep must be at least one month old to be eligible for adulthood!

A couple other things have been added to the website. First, two new fruits have been released, so be sure to check them out! Secondary Elements and baby powers have also been updated. These may be helpful for those looking to create a new Meep, especially one with a Secondary Element. We’ve also added a few new NPCs!

Finally, we’ll be holding a story challenge in a few days. It's promising to be incredible! Stay tuned for more information soon.
